We will be operating our 1957 DMU Iris 2 as part of the Barry Transport Festival at Hood Road on Barry Waterfront. Iris 2 is a popular and comfortable train at Barry Tourist Railway offering heritage travel with modern air conditioned comfort. Services will run regularly between Barry Island and Barry Waterfront.
6th and 7th July

BIG BARRY AT WAR WEEKEND – our biggest event of the year featuring many historic military vehicles and a real Spitfire on the platform at Barry Island station! We are a paying our respects to the Merchant Navy for 2013 is the year of the convoy. We also have a super steam train for this event in the shape of the Great Western Society's Steam Railmotor train making its first visit to South Wales. An event not to be missed!
5th November
Join us to travel from Barry Waterfront to Barry Island for the annual fireworks display and avoid the hassle of taking your car across the busy causeway road.
December
Join us for presents, mulled wine and mince pies as Father Christmas visits the railway. Board the historic GREAT WESTERN STEAM RAILMOTOR TRAIN for a 40 minute trip at the Barry Tourist Railway. Each child gets a free present from Santa at their seat on the train – no queuing! A great way to start your Christmas festivities.
